Patsie was born in Ville Platte, Louisiana to Nealy Joseph and Attnice (Vidrine) McCauley on November 18, 1937, the youngest of four children. She passed on Sunday, September 18, 2022 in Norman. This is a woman who lived a wonderful and full life; she had friends and family, hobbies and travel throughout her days.
She met her beloved husband, William Andrew Frederickson, while they were both at what is now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Patsie and Bill were married on December 27, 1958 and able to spend just months short of 50 years together until his death in 2008. Post Bill’s military service in Washington, DC they moved back to Lafayette where their daughter Debra Patrice was born. In 1964 a professorship for Bill brought the family to Edmond where Patsie spent the majority of her life. She could be described many in many ways throughout her long life: a daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, volunteer, weaver, china painter, realtor, bridge and tennis player. But for most of her life her biggest joys were traveling to beaches and mountains or cheering on her Oklahoma Sooners.
Patsie was preceded in death by her cherished husband, mother and father, sister Lou Ellen (Sis) McCauley Reed and her brother Ronald Earl McCauley.
Patsie leaves her daughter Debra Frederickson Klinghoffer and son-in-law Alec of Norman, nephew Beau and Sarah Reed and their children Claire and Andrew of Edmond, brother CB McCauley and his wife Carolyn of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Brother-in-law Kenneth R Frederickson and wife Sandra of Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be a private family service.
