Maureen Frierson, 83, was born in Columbia, MS Jan. 21, 1930 to W.T. and Freddie Spence. She married Haskel Kirkland and had one son, Kenneth. As a young widow, she married James Todd Frierson and they lived in Picayune, MS until his death in 1997.
In 2000 she moved to Oklahoma to be near her son and his family. She attended First Baptist Church in Edmond where she made many friends.
Maureen was preceeded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dick and Calvin Spence; and a sister, Tommye Bond. After a long illness, she went to her heavenly home leaving her son, Ken and his wife, Martha; her grandchildren, Jim & Jamie Kirkland, John Kirkland, and Dawn & Jerry Amundsen; her great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Arik, Aden, Anna, and Jackson.
Services will be held at Baggerley's funeral Home in Edmond, OK May 28 at 1 p.m. Interrment will be at Palestine Cemetery in Picayune, MS
