Lois was born to Hilton and Dorothy Marie Jackson on December 22, 1945, in Seminole, Oklahoma. She lived in Dora Hill, Oklahoma until moving to Edmond in 1965, where she resided until her passing.
Lois was a woman who embraced life with passion and warmth. She found joy in the simple pleasures—whether it was fishing, tending to her garden, or growing beautiful flowers. But above all, the most treasured part of her life was her family. Lois cherished the time spent with loved ones, especially during the holidays, and will always be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Her laughter was contagious, and she found immense joy in the company of her grandchildren and in the little absurdities that life often brings. Lois had a fondness for the color red and a deep love for country and gospel music, both of which reflected her spirited and joyful personality.
Lois taught all who knew her the true meaning of unconditional love, perseverance, kindness, loyalty, compassion, and generosity. She will be fondly remembered not only for her incredible talent as a painter but also for her remarkable skills as a seamstress. Lois’s legacy will live on through the many lives she touched, and she will forever be in our hearts.
Lois is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Rex Cooley, her parents, Hilton and Dorothy Marie Jackson, and her sister Barbara Hooker.
Lois is survived by her three sons, Clay Cooley and wife Paula of Edmond, Rex Cooley Jr. and wife Cathy of Guthrie, and Martin Maggard and wife Kathy of Edmond, her sister Mildred Roberts of Cushing, her six grandchildren Amanda Henderson and husband Jason of Perry, Jenny Cooley and husband Adam of Guthrie, Zack Maggard of Edmond, Logan Maggard of Edmond, Morgan Maggard of Edmond, Jonathan Manning of Yukon, along with six great-grandchildren, eight nieces including Crystal Johnson and Candace Hooker and four nephews.
