Ken was born on November 6, 1956, in Laredo, Texas, to Carolyn Sue (Cook) McBride and Darryl Wayne McBride. He grew up in Oklahoma and Wichita, Kansas, and later settled in Edmond. His life was grounded in hard work, family, and a deep love of the outdoors.
A talented athlete in his youth, Ken competed in football and track and remained a passionate sports fan throughout his life—especially devoted to OU football and OKC Thunder basketball. He loved fishing, camping, and restoring cars and motorcycles. He could build just about anything, and there was truly nothing he couldn’t fix.
Ken recently retired after a successful career as a district and national sales manager in the paving equipment industry. He was also generous, loyal, and devoted to his family. He was deeply proud of his children and grandchildren and shared a special bond with each of them.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his son Josh and wife Wendy; daughter Kylie and husband Steven Glover; daughter Katie and wife Miranda; his brother Brian McBride and wife Melinda; and his grandchildren Faith, Presley, Mia, Brooklynn, and Oaklan. He is also survived by his rescue dog Stella and granddogs Beth, Mabel, Elie, and Aero, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Carolyn McBride; his rescue dogs Eleanor and Molly; and his granddog Bella.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Baggerly Funeral Home in Edmond, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Oklahoma Humane Society (https://okhumane.org/donate/) in honor of Ken’s love for animals.
