Jon A. Hansen

Jon Hansen, 65, of Oklahoma City, passed away Friday morning, April 15th, 2016, at home with family by his side. Jon was a well-respected fire service leader, not only within Oklahoma City, but throughout the state and the nation. He served the Oklahoma City Fire Department for 26 years, retiring in 1999 at the rank of Assistant Chief. As the department's public information officer, Jon was a tireless proponent of fire safety education. After retiring from the Oklahoma City Fire Department, he continued his dedication to public safety, and at the time of his passing was Executive Director of the Council On Firefighter Training. Jon is survived by his son, Cory; daughter, Jill; sisters, Norene and Kathy; niece Annie and brother-in-law Randy. Services will be held Saturday April 23rd, 2016, at Life Church in Edmond at 11:00 am. Jon asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Oklahoma Fallen & Living Firefighters Memorial fund.
