Jessie Jane Cantrell Maker was born on December 26th, 1916 to John Henry Cantrell and Eva Lou Clapp in Britton, Oklahoma. She was the fourth of thirteen children. Jessie worked with her brothers in the farming fields and cleaned houses to help support her family. She was proud she was able to purchase her parents’ first refrigerator from her own wages. She worked in a factory making uniforms during World War II. Jessie loved to work word-search puzzles and was a “world class” jigsaw puzzler.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, eleven of twelve siblings, and her only son, Edward “Junior” Maker.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, LaWanna Maker, three grandchildren; Rhonda Garver and husband, Darrell, Lori Matena and husband, David, and Rick Maker; four great-grandchildren, Lindsie Guthrie and husband, Scott, Justin Garver, Kayla Garver, and Laci Pasch.
