Jerry T. Wood

Jerry Thompson Wood, 81, a resident of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020. He was born December 9, 1938, in Troy, Alabama, to parents Lamar and Elise (Thompson) Wood of Goshen, Alabama. At Goshen High School, he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. After graduation he attended the University of Alabama, was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha, and earned his degree in Business Administration from Troy University.

Jerry had a long career in the food brokerage industry; first with Carl Wheeler and Associations, then retiring from Schraads and Associates.

Jerry was an avid golfer and enjoyed his long-time friendship with the Harroz family and all the Crest guys.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Michael Wood. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jacquline “Jackie” (Robinson) Wood; daughters, Dena Wood Fancher (Bill) of Seattle, WA, and Tamara Milessa Wood Deason of Edmond, OK; sister, Joan Wood Beard of Troy, AL; grandchildren: Skyler Fancher (Ashley), Madison Fancher, Tanner Bowen Wood, and Jason Deason; and many other family members and friends.

Memorial celebrations will take place at a later date in Edmond and Troy.
