Jaunita Faye Foshee was born February 14, 1929 and peacefully passed away June 21, 2014 at her home in Wayne, Oklahoma. She was born in Elk City, Oklahoma at the home of her Grandmother to Raymond Lee Williams and Dulcie Bell (Marshall) Williams. She was raised in Berlin, Oklahoma and graduated from Berlin High School in 1947. She attended Southwestern University in Weatherford, Oklahoma where she received her Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Home Economics. During her teaching career she taught Home Economics at Dill City Junior and Senior High and freshman and sophomore English in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Jaunita and Lonnie Lemuel Foshee were acquaintances for many years before they fell in love and married on August 7, 1949 at her parents' home. They were happily married for 54 years. After a move to Virginia, Jaunita became the Secretary of the Maintenance Department for Mepar. Jaunita left the workforce and loved being a stay at home wife and mother. She was an expert seamstress and spent many hours creating clothes for her two girls and others. She was an avid gardener and created many floral arrangements for their home and church functions. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends. For many years she and her husband cooked Sunday lunch for college students who were unable to go home on the weekends. She volunteered at her daughters' schools, taught Bible School and mentored many young couples in the Church. She had the heart of a servant. Before retiring in Oklahoma in 1990, Jaunita and her family lived in California for 20 years where she worked in the Admissions Office at Pepperdine University and supported her husband in his work as an Elder in the Church. At the time of her death she was a member of the Wayne Church of Christ. She and her husband had previously worshipped at Alexandria, Virginia; Arlington, Virginia; Inglewood, California; Palos Verdes, California; Redondo Beach, California and Memorial Road Church of Christ in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Lemuel Foshee in July of 2003; her parents Raymond L. and Dulcie Bell Williams and stepmother Ruth (Winters) Williams. Jaunita is survived by her children, Karen Foshee Bender, husband Paul and grandson Steven of Seal Beach, California; Sharon K. Moore, husband Robbie and grandsons Duke and Chance of Wayne, Oklahoma: a brother Clifford Williams and wife Vernell of Sayre, Oklahoma; nephew and wife Tom and Gina Williams of Oklahoma City; nephew and wife Don and Liz Williams of Golden, Colorado. She will dearly be missed by those who knew her. A memorial service will be held at the Wayne Church of Christ on Thursday, June 26th at 10am. Burial will be at the Berlin Cemetary at 3pm. A visitation time will be held at Baggerley Funeral Home in Edmond on Wednesday, June 25th from 12pm-7pm. Family will be there to greet guests from 4pm-6pm.
