Glenda Kay Hutchison was born in Perryton, Texas to Glen Leonard and Esther Ilene Sanger. Kay grew-up in Beaver County, OK, attending Garrett Country School through the 8th grade and finished at Beaver Public School. Raised on a horse farm, she was an accomplished barrel horse racer. In 1968, she married Larry Neal and they had two children, Misti and Dustin. She married Ed Hutchison in 1983.
After the children left home, and spurred by a mid-life crisis, Kay and Ed became professional truck drivers, collecting countless memories and adventures throughout the lower 48 states, Canada, and Mexico. Kay was most proud of her and Ed’s efforts to raise money for the Special Olympics through their truck driving efforts.
Kay was an amazing cook who loved to prepare meals for others. She also enjoyed making all kinds of crafts. She was a strong-willed woman and always supportive of her children and grandchildren. As strong as she was, it was her faith in God and the power of the Holy Spirit that kept her going through those last five-and-a-half years of poor health. She will be greatly missed.
Kay was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, Esther Ilene Sanger of Elkins, AR; husband, Ed of the home; children, Misti Peterson and Dustin “Dusty” Neal; she was also blessed with a great son-in-law, Jeff Peterson and a wonderful daughter-in-law, Kim Neal; 6 grandchildren: Trey and Joshua Peterson of Edmond, OK, Kaylin, Austin, and Blake Neal of Kingfisher, OK, and Stormi Magnison of Denver, CO; 1 great-grandson, King McNabb; sisters: Brenda Phares & husband Mike of Enid, OK, Rhonda Waggoner & husband Billy of Elkins, AR, Cinda Carter & husband Michael of Amarillo, TX, and Jana Eaton & husband Rex of Elkins, AR; and many other family members and friends.
