Frances "Fran" Ann Brooks, age 75, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024. She was born to John Harmon Gravett and Ann Margaret Dillet on September 25, 1948. Fran attended St. Mary’s Catholic High School. She was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona before moving to Edmond in January of 2020 to be closer to family.
On October 30, 1970 Fran married Carl David Brooks. Fran and Carl had two daughters Deborah and Cynthia and were married for 38 years until his passing on February 26, 2009. After Carl’s death, Fran met a wonderful man, Jerry St. Hilaire and they spent many years together until she moved to Oklahoma. Jerry meant the world to Fran and he gave her an amazing life.
Fran loved many things like spending time at home, reading a good book, having coffee with her sister Dottie, but most of all hanging out with the people she loved most; her family, friends, and loved ones. She was a strong, independent, and intelligent woman who loved her family and friends with all her heart and would protect them with all her might. Fran had many professional accomplishments including becoming a Level 10 Gymnastics judge and winning multiple Xerox Presidential Awards. The most important things that Fran’s family learned from her was a strong work ethic, financial prudence, responsibility, grit, and resilience. Her favorite color was red and her favorite music was country, The Beach Boys, and Motown. She loved having a good laugh when hearing the silly stories of her grandchildren, reminiscing the good times, and being all around just goofy.
Fran is preceded in death by her parents John Harmon Gravett and Ann Margaret Dillet and her husband Carl David Brooks.
Fran is survived by her partner Jerry St. Hilaire, her two daughters Deborah (Deb) Crocker and husband Peter of Bettendorf, Iowa and Cynthia (Cindy) Hart and husband William (Bill) of Edmond, Oklahoma, her sister Dorothy (Dottie) Puckett and husband Gary of Phoenix, Arizona. Fran is also survived by her four grandchildren Drew, Laina, Kaylin, and Kylee, and niece Jill Yancey and Nephews Mark and Andy Puckett.
Celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Phoenix, Arizona.
