Estella (Sally) F. Boone Roberts left her earthly home early Sunday morning, March 20, 2016, to be held in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. Sally was born to Estella Pearl and Tom Alonzo Earl Boone on October 14, 1924. She attended Edmond High School before marrying Jim Roberts on September 5, 1940. They lived a happy and long life together celebrating 69 years before Jim’s death. They had 3 children together.
After being a stay-at-home mother until the youngest of the children was in Jr. High School, Sally worked at OTASCO as bookkeeper for many years after which she also worked at Christian Supply. She enjoyed doing volunteer work at Edmond Hospital for several years and was very active in Bible Study Fellowship. Sally attended Edmond First Baptist Church where she was active teaching in children’s classes years back and then adult classes before experiencing health problems.
She was preceded in death by both parents, 2 brothers: Joe and Jack Boone, her husband Jim, and son Jimmy. She is survived by 1 brother, Tom Boone of Dallas, TX; 2 daughters: Peggy Harris and husband, Mitch and Mary Beagles and husband, Cecil all of Edmond, 1 daughter-in-law, Jody Roberts of Las Vegas, NV, 8 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Bradford Village for their loving care of Sally during the past few years. She was lovingly known as their “Star” and one staff member would call her “Hollywood”.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Edmond First Baptist Church’s Building Together campaign or the charity of your choice.
Visitation for Sally will be Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 3-7pm at Baggerley Funeral Home. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00am on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Edmond, located at 33rd and Bryant.
