Deborah Ann Yandell

Debbie was born on September 17, 1958 to Terry and Lila Schaller in Tucson, Arizona. After completing high school in Clinton, Oklahoma, she went on to pursue a degree in Forensic Science at the University of Central Oklahoma. She met her husband Steve in 1978, at the age of 19. The two were married three months later and were fortunate to have almost 45 loving years together as husband and wife. Debbie and Steve had two children, Justin and Tie.

Her early career at Deluxe Check Printers was spent leading seminars for bankers. She devoted many years volunteering for the foster care system, organizing birthday parties and gifts for the children. She dedicated countless hours counseling women that were victims of abuse, and she volunteered for a crisis pregnancy center where she was able to help meet the needs of so many. She also worked in Steve’s clinic, managing the practice and helping with patients. She was active in her church, often doing readings during mass, teaching religious education, and helping with the youth group.

Debbie’s greatest role in life was that of wife and mother. She and her husband Steve had a special kind of love. They created many memories traveling together, including many trips in their camper with friends. Their devotion to one another was evident, all the way to the end. Debbie was very active in her kids’ lives and activities and would often have a car or house full of her kids and their friends. Debbie also had the joy of being a grandmother “gram”, and she meant the world to her grandchildren.

Debbie was beautiful, both inside and out. She had a zest for life that radiated and impacted others. She always looked forward to the next day, and the next adventure. She welcomed anyone and everyone. She always had a smile on her face and arms wide open. She loved others. And she loved fiercely. She was a fighter, an inspiration, a gift from God. Debbie’s life was far too short, but she lived it to the fullest. She will be greatly missed.

Debbie was proceeded in death by her father, Terry, and mother, Lila. She is survived by her husband, Steve Yandell, son Justin Yandell and his wife Sandy, and their two children, Ryan and Mikaela, daughter Tie Nightengale and her husband Devin, and their two children, Hayden and Keegan, sister Cris Pulatie and her husband Rick, brother Paul and his wife Rhonda, her brother Mike Schaller, her brother Jeff Schaller and his wife Julie, and other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and many other caring friends.

A visitation for Deborah will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK.

Mass of Christian Burial will occur Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 900 S. Littler Ave, Edmond, OK.
