Chad was born to Frank McClendon and Mary Sharp on January 22, 1971 in Fort Worth, TX. He graduated in 1989 and went on to join the U.S. Army. He then pursued careers in natural gas and commercial trucks and equipment.
In 1996, Chad married the love of his life, Brenda Ann Flores. They had two beautiful children, Clay Allan McClendon and Mattea Emma McClendon. They were happily married for 26 years. He loved his family with every ounce of his being, and he was their rock.
Through the years, Chad welcomed people into his home gathering strangers, friends, and family. If the man cave door was open, you were greeted with an ice-cold beer and a TCU or OSU school talk. Sooners were tolerated! Chad’s weekends included nightly golf cart rides around the neighborhood. He enjoyed every genre of music and had a passion for sports which included TCU, OSU, the Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Stars. Chad enjoyed sharing his wisdom, telling stories, and making those around him laugh. You could consider Chad a life mentor to employees and friends. This included offering words of encouragement and bringing out the best in people. Chad’s giving heart will be remembered and missed by so many who loved him.
In January 2022, Chad was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer. You could often hear him say, “Cancer didn’t happen to me, it happened for me!” Throughout this time, Chad’s testimony, trust, and faith in God grew beyond belief. He fought with everything he had till his very last breath. Surrounded by his family, he began his heavenly journey.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Memorial Road Church of Christ-2221 East Memorial Rd., Edmond, OK 73103.
