Brenda Margaret Messer, 75 of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away at home Thursday September 5, 2013. At the time of her passing she was in the presence of her husband and two daughters. Brenda was born in London, England to the late William and Hilda Whyman on January 28, 1938. She spent her youth in North London in the area known as Archway. She married Darius Messer Junior, now retired, Senior Master Sargent of the United States Air Force on September 29, 1956; this year would have marked their 57th year of life together. Brenda was a career home-maker whose hobbies included SCUBA diving, painting and sketch work, various table card games like Bunko as well as bowling, bingo and her well known green thumb for her garden, in every home they lived in the gardens would become idyllic oases of flora and tranquility a talent and love that she has passed on to her daughters. While being from England, Brenda has spent the past nearly 34 years in the United States, living in Arkansas, Georgia, and Oklahoma. Prior to their last move to the States she and Darius also spent portions of their married life in Texas and California. Brenda was a very tenacious and out-spoken woman, she was very sharp witted and had a classic dry sense of humor. Brenda who was the lynchpin of her family is survived by her Husband Darius Messer Junior, their daughters: Julie Clark-Gimmel and her husband Dennis Gimmel and Donna Messer-Jones. She is also survived by her son William Messer and his wife Cindy Messer. She is also survived by her five grand-children; Christine Kline; Rachel Williams; Kathrine Jones; Derek Messer and Ian Messer and the newest family addition of her great granddaughter Blakelynn Williams. The family would also like to acknowledge her brothers who reside in England; Donald Whyman and Christopher Whyman in addition to all of her extended family also residing in England. Brenda was preceded in death by her grandson Kent Forrest Jones son of Donna Messer-Jones. Memorial services for Brenda will be 10:00am, Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel.
