Betty Lou Irwin went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 9, 2010, as a result of complications from a stroke. Betty was born to Cecil Emory and Ocie Zell (Reynolds) Talkington on June 15, 1929 in Hereford, Texas.
Betty was a graduate of Hydro High School and attended Southwestern State University. Her greatest joy was her family, and she loved spending time with them. She took great pride in hosting family dinners at her home, which was a gathering place for so many because of her positive and outgoing personality. Betty was also a wonderful gardener.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Arnold Irwin; brother, Neil Talkington; grandson, Spencer Dowdell; and son-in-law, Ernie Pierce. She is survived by her four children, Jan Pierce, Ron Dowdell and wife Teresa, Sharon Lusk and husband Phil, Debbi Hart-Bertone and husband Mark; brother, Verlin Talkington and wife Wanda; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren as well as many other precious family members and friends.
Services to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Hydro Masonic Cemetery in Hydro, OK. www.baggerley.com
