Born in Manhattan, NY on June 30, 1925 he was a son of the late John and Pre-Esser Burrell Carter. Kenneth attended high school in New York City. He then went on to work as a precious metals appraiser. He worked as a chemist for Revlon perfumes, in New York. He worked for 25 years at the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, operating the IRT Line, and the A & D Train, he then retired in 1987. Kenneth enjoyed his music collection of Jazz, Blues, Classical, and R & B. At one time he had a Jazz music program on WBGO, out of NJ.
He married the love of his life Eloise Carter on July 4, 1948 and that marriage brought two sons Khufu Ankh Hatap Kefri Bauz, and Ahker Re Amueu Carter.
He will be missed by his two sons, Khufu Ankh Hatap Kefri Bauz, and his wife Karen and Ahker Re Amueu both of the Bronx, NY; grandchildren Victora Carr-Carter Yahuda Carter, Robiyab Carter-Black and her husband Marshall, Elliyaas Carter, Hajaar Carter, Mutawakill Carter, Zahrah McFaggen, Semaa Claiborne, Umar Claiborne, Ishmawiyl Claiborne, Uthman Claiborne, Sarah N. Carter; Great Grandson: Haru Black; a nephew: Robert Laurie; two nieces: Jean and Barbara Laurie; sister:
Carol Ann Robinson; the Kohle family from Baltimore, MA, and a host of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday September 1, 2013 at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg at 2:00 P.M. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Sunday September 1, 2013 at 1:30 P.M.
