Frank Getz, 86, formally of Henryville, passed away late Saturday evening November 26, 2011 at the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home, Snydersville.

He was born in White Haven, PA on June 2, 1925, a son to the late James and Mary (Jeruskey) Getz.

Frank retired from the maintenance department at the former Strickland’s Mountain Resort, Mount Pocono, after 45 years of dedicated service.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, tree trimming and was considered “Mr. Fix It” by his family and friends.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were two great-grandsons: Hunter and Logan Pratt, and several brothers and sisters.

Surviving is his loving wife of 65 years, Irene (Bond) Getz of Mount Pocono, PA; children: Vicki (Getz) Kerrick and her husband William of Moravia, NY; Edward J. Getz and his wife Linda (Kelly) Getz of Cresco, PA; and Frank Getz Jr. and his wife Betty (Stahl) Getz of Hagerstown, MD; sister: Arlene Faulk of Weatherly, PA; and brothers: George Getz of Freeland, PA; and James Getz of Pocono Lake, PA; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg, with Pastor Mert Shane, Pastor of the Keokee Chapel, Cresco, PA officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Prospect Street East Stroudsburg.

Family and friends are invited to attend a public viewing at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
