Edward Martin “Ed” Pinson was a loving husband, father, pappy, soldier, and friend. He passed away at age 73 on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 peacefully surrounded by his loved ones in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He was the fourth of five boys born to Anne B. (Hawkins) Pinson and Robert H. Pinson on July 6, 1948 in Vallejo, California.
He is survived by his wife, Karen S. (Dottino) Pinson, daughters Melissa Pinson Groom (Mary Glen) and Patricia A. Pinson (Karen), and three elder brothers. He is predeceased by his mother, father, younger brother Franklin Pinson, ex-wife Mary (Glen) Pinson, and daughter Danielle L. (Pinson) Glover (Mary Glen).
Among many of his duties, the most significant of his time was serving as an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician in the military for 21 years as a retiring sergeant first class. His civil service continued working for the Department of Defense at Picatinny Arsenal for 14 years before retiring in 2014.
In his free time, Ed loved diving, traveling, go-kart racing, kite flying, camping, making people laugh, and playing with his two dogs Daisy and Lucy. His favorite place to be was amongst family, especially surrounded by his 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
At this time, services are being planned for interment at the columbine in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC. Updates will be provided on a date and time for the service.
The family asks that donations be made either to the EOD Warrior Foundation or St. Jude’s Hospital for Children in Ed’s name in lieu of flowers.
