Blake B. Robinson

Blake Byrne Robinson, 21 of East Stroudsburg passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 at his home. Born in East Stroudsburg on Sunday, March 26th, 1989, he was one of two sons of James and Mary Patricia (Gallagher) Robinson of East Stroudsburg. He also has a sister Brooke Robinson of East Stroudsburg, and a brother Seth Robinson of Henryville who has a wife Randi and their two children Jessyn and Jocelynn Robinson.

Blake graduated from East Stroudsburg High School South in 2007 as well as from Monroe County Vocational Technical School with a certificate in Auto Collision Repair Technology.

He then pursued an Associates degree in Applied Service Management from Wyoming Technical Institute in Blairsville, PA. There he also obtained diplomas in Street Rod and Custom Fabrication as well as Upholstery Technology.

Blake’s passion was roller hockey. He began skating at the age of seven years old and was instantly be best skater in the area. He started playing hockey at the age of nine at the Scranton YMCA with the Scorpions. He went from there to a travel team out of Big Wheel in Stroudsburg and Matamoras. After playing for that local travel team he tried out and was recruited to the Lawncrest Lightning Team out of Northern Philadelphia. With the Lawncrest Lightning, he traveled to Alfrareda, Georgia for the USA Nationals. He left that team and joined the New Jersey Salsa out of Edison, New Jersey. With that team he traveled to the North American Roller Championship (NARCh) Nationals in Toronto, Canada where they placed 3rd for all of North & Central Americas. He also received individual awards for fastest skater in two age groups, 16 and under as well as 18 and under. Breaking the records in both age groups made him the fastest hockey player in both North & Central America by a large margin. The following year, at the age of Seventeen, playing for the Inman Force in Fort Myers, Florida, he again got fastest skater in the 18 and under age division. At that same time, he was also was playing for the New Jersey Minute Men out of Morristown, NJ which was a semi-professional division of NARCh. When he was 18, he played for the New Jersey Stampede out of Morristown, NJ. While going to school in Blairsville, PA; he continued to play with the New Jersey Stampede as well as pursuing his interest in Break and Jam Skating. This led him to travel all over the area to different rinks in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia to skate with other talented skaters and learn from them. He was noted in the area for his hockey and skating abilities.

He was loved by all his friends and family. A good friend of Blake’s, Lee Daniel wrote in remembrance of Blake on Facebook; “He had many friends, he never had any problems with any people, he was a great person who just lit up the room any where he went. No mater what kind of people he was around he always made sure it was a good time. He was polite, nice, funny, and smart. All of his closest friends love him so very much and we will never ever forget him. There will always be a piece of him with all of us, his friends and family.” This is one of many great statements that friends have been stating about Blake. Those of us who have been blessed with knowing him, spending time with him and loved him will never forget who he was. He has left an impact on everyone that he met and everywhere he went.

Family and Friends will gather at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home at 27 Washington Street in East Stroudsburg, PA on Saturday, March 26th, 2011 from 10 A.M. until 12 P.M. and from 2 P.M. until 4 P.M.
