Mr. Smith was born in Pikeville, TN to the late Junius and Hallie Smith.
He was the owner of Tennessee Awning and Tent Company and a founding member of Highland Park Lions Club. Mr. Smith was also a 57 year member of the Alhambra Shrine, American Legion and the East Ridge Masonic Lodge #755.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Virginia Caldwell Smith and the last of 11 children.
Surviving are his son, Roger (Jo Ann) Smith of Cumming, GA; daughter, Carole (John D) Green of Decatur, TN; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be 11:30 AM on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at
Chattanooga National Cemetery conducted by the East Ridge Lodge #755.
