Bill graduated from Central High School in 1947. He was a gifted baseball player, pitching a no-hitter during his junior year. He was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, East Brainerd Baptist Church, and Woodland Park Baptist Church. He served in the Naval Reserve and was on active duty during the Korean War. A journeyman electrician by trade, he was a member of IBEW Local 175. He was employed by Lawson Electric for 34 years, also working closely with the EPB of Chattanooga, where he was recognized as their first Honorary Employee.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 27 years, Carolyn, infant son Stephen, parents Maebeth and William B. Jennings Sr., and grandson Jonathan Littell.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jeanette, sons David (Sheri) Jennings and Danny (Kathy) Jennings, daughters Teresa (David) Littell and Kim (Art) Pendergrass, eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Bill was a compassionate man who freely gave of himself to those in need. He loved Tennessee football, good food, and, most of all, spending time with family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel 404 South Moore Road. Burial will be in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3-8 PM Tuesday and from 10 – 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
