Wayne Murphree

Robert Wayne Murphree, age 62, of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 26, 2011 at his residence. A lifelong resident of East Ridge where he was born on December 2, 1949. He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force. He worked 12 years for SunTrust Bank in the Maintenance Department and later joined Jones Lang LaSalle as a Mobile Maintenance Engineer. He was a longtime member of Woodland Park Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by father, Perry Murphree; mother-in-law, Marilyn Rivers.

Survived by his loving wife, Kathleen L. Murphree of Chattanooga; two daughters, Amy Elizabeth Pearson (Kenneth) of Hixson, Tennessee and Lori Ann Murphree of Chattanooga; two grandchildren, Kristen Elise Pearson and Benjamin Lee Pearson; two step-daughters, Eve Keller and Heather Thorn (George, Jr.); step son, Adam Keller (Vanessa); step- granddaughter Ariana Keller; mother, Doris Evelyn Farmer (Pat), father-in-law, Arthur Rivers; sister, Linda Jean Rutemeyer (Michael); two sisters in law, Melody Preble and Kimberly Rivers; brother-in-law, David Rivers; niece, Renee Eldridge; nephew, Raymond Cooke, Jr.; grand nephew, Brandon Eldridge; two uncles, Jack Pond and Harold Murphree; aunt Mary Nelle Moore; close cousin, Doris June Farley; several other cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 1 PM at Woodland Park Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Barber officiating. Interment will be held on Monday at 9:30 AM at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 PM to 7 PM at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
