Truman Leon Daugherty, 80, of Chattanooga died Sunday, December 28, 2014. He was born in Chattanooga to the late John and Irene Daugherty. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Daugherty; brothers Ralph Daugherty and Donald Daugherty; sisters, Anna Lee Carson and Peggy Cooper. He was a US Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Baltimore. Truman was retired from the Chattanooga Fire Department.
Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Stafford; grandchildren Megan Stafford, Alison Stafford, Savannah Lacher, Cameron Lacher, Jesse Daugherty and Layden Daugherty; great granddaughter Danni Reynolds; and special friend, Gail McCauley.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will be 10:30 am Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The families will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 Monday evening.
