Ross was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on April 18, 1926 and was predeceased by his parents, Wilma Moseley and Harley L. Moseley, Sr., and his brother, Harley L. Moseley, Jr.
Ross was proud of his service in the United States Navy from 1945-1946 aboard the the USS Rehoboth as a seaplane tender in the waters of Korea, China and Japan.
Early in his career, Ross was a master home builder in the Chattanooga area. Later, until the age of 90, he built, managed and maintained various rental properties with the help of his steadfast and longtime partner, Betty.
Ross and Betty delighted in RV travel, making lasting memories as they traveled across the continental United States and into Canada numerous times. Their greatest delight, however, came in time spent with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The gift of family was paramount in their lives as they shared family dinners, birthdays, holidays, and vacations.
Ross will be remembered as a generous, capable, hard-working man, always eager to help anyone in need. He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by Betty, his three children, Gordon Moseley, Karen Fulmer (Jim), and Jean Ann McAfee (Tommy George), his six grandchildren, Cody Moseley (Laura), Meg Brasel (Thomas), Jake Fulmer, Abby Martin (Ross), Sterling McAfee (Leigh), Connor McAfee (Rachael Maples), his thirteen great grandchildren and his sister-in-law, Marie Williamson (Rufus). He loved us all well and it was his greatest joy to, along with Betty, surprise us with generous gifts.
Ross’ family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to his special caregiver, Dachia Edwards, and to Danielle and Meagan of Hearth Hospice for their loving care of our father. Our heartfelt appreciation also to his Morning Pointe Shallowford Road family where he and Betty have called home for the past four years.
A private family memorial will be held at National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Longtime friend, Roy Dodd, will be honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity Ross and Betty have supported for many years, or to a charity of your choice.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ChattanoogaEastChapel.com for the Moseley family.
Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd. East Ridge, TN 37412.
