Dr. Robert R.”Bob” Farley, 88, of Chattanooga died Wednesday, March 6, 2013. He was born April 7, 1924 in Nashville, a son of the late Edward and Katherine Farley. He was preceded in death by a son, James Robert Farley. He was a World War II Marine veteran. He was a member of Wauhatchie United Methodist Church, the American Legion and was a Mason. He was a` doctor of pharmacy, retiring from Lookout Valley Drugs. He lived for 20 years on Chickamauga Lake in the Birchwood area, where he and his late wife Carolyn, enjoyed the lake and fishing. After Carolyn’s death, he married Betsy Steffner, they enjoyed spending time at their cabin in the Smokey Mountains. Bob was an avid Atlanta Braves fan; he never missed a game and enjoyed his weekly card games with close friends.
Survivors include his daughter Kathy (Mathieu) Watkins; step-children Carole (Jim) Barber and Tommy (Judy) Thatch; daughter-in-law Claudia Farley; grandchildren Amanda (Adam) Johnson and Scott (Susan) Farley; great grandchildren Caroline Farley and Catherine Farley and a sister Martha Harvey.
Graveside services will be held 1:30 Wednesday, March 13, 2012 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Pallbearers include Alan Ballard, Jim Barber, Jim Brackett, Robert Clark, Tommy Thatch, and Butch Wade
The family will receive friends at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home Wednesday from 10-1.
