Richard Russell

Mr. Russell was born in Chattanooga to Jesse and Frances Russell and was a graduate of Central High School. He was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a former Sunday School teacher. He retired from American General then was an independent painting contractor.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Russell; children, Rick L. Russell Jr., Leigh Russell (Jim) Frasso, Danny (Audrey) Russell and David (Wendy) Russell; grandchildren, Kasey (Jim) Bostic, Katie Frasso, Stacy (Lauren) Russell, Alex Russell, Paige Frasso, Jared Russell, Sarah Frasso, and Aaron Russell; 4 great-grandchildren; and sister, Patricia Tate.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be at 11 AM on Friday at Silverdale Baptist Church (7236 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421) with Rev. Chuck Tanner officiating and visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.

Memorial donations may be made to Silverdale Baptist Church - EPI Center Fund or Haiti Children’s Nutritional Program (PO Box 3720, 1918 Union Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404).
