He graduated from Central High School in 1953. He married the love of his life, Margaret Meadows Snyder in 1955. Shortly thereafter he was drafted into the United States Army and served his country with distinction. Some of Dink’s favorite pastimes were spent playing golf, fishing and woodworking.
Dink worked as a Systems Analyst and retired from Combustion Engineering after 40 years of dedicated service.
He was a member of South Seminole Baptist Church where he served as deacon for several years. He was a member of the East Lake Masonic Lodge #698 F&AM. Dink served as a Reserve Police Officer with the East Ridge Police Department for many years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Margaret Snyder, parents; James Vernon Sr., and Lula Snyder, brothers; James Vernon Snyder, Jr., Charlie Snyder, sister; Peggy Liebe.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Paul Jr., his daughter in law, Kim, grandchildren; Cody Snyder and Courtney Snyder, sister; Delores Ellis, sister-in-law; Liz Snyder, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A receiving of friends will be held at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Thursday December 28, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 pm. A Celebration of “Dink’s” Life will be held graveside in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South in Rossville, GA., at 11:00 am on Friday December 29, 2023 with military honors.
