

Orville served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Upon leaving the service he went to work for Hamilton County where he worked as a prison guard with the Hamilton County Jail. In his time there he served under four different sheriffs . After he retired from the sheriffs department he went onto work with Lexus of Chattanooga. Orville loved to watch football and wrestling. He dearly loved his family and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy L. Shell, grandson, Jeremy S. Shell, daughter-in-law, Tammy Shell, and his aforementioned parents, and the last of 10 children.
Left behind to cherish Orville’s memory are his children, Nicky (Kristi) Shell, Kathy (Rick) Camp, Mark (Lesia) Shell, Greg Shell, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held graveside on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 3 p.m. at Chattanooga Memorial Park, with Rev. Todd Poteet officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 17, 2023 from 11 am - 2p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 S. Moore Rd, East Ridge, TN 37412. He will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga Memorial Park alongside his loving wife, Peggy.
