She worked for Lakeside Clinic, Vansco Posters as well as JCPenney's until her retirement. She was a member of Ringgold Church of Christ. She loved to travel with Senior Friends and was able to visit all 50 states as well as several countries outside the USA. She loved her Georgia Bulldogs and looked forward to her Saturday football parties.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Cooley; brothers, George Nave, Harry “Bud” and Ruth Nave, Harold and Dorothy Nave, Lawrence Nave, Kenneth and Helen Nave, and Doyle Nave; sister, Marlene Nave (John) Logan, and son-in-law Tim Clifton.
She leaves to cherish her memory; daughters, Elizabeth Cooley, Connie Cooley Updegraff (Mike) and Cathy Cooley Clifton; grandchildren, Ross (Jillian) Updegraff, Lane (Stephanie) Updegraff and Cameron Clifton; great-grandchildren; William Updegraff, Evelyn Updegraff, Brooks Updegraff, and Rhys Updegraff and sister, Anna Ruth (Ozzie) Hughes, sister in laws Carla Nave and Helen Nave and other dear family members.
A Celebration of Myrtle’s Life will be held in the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Tuesday
October 1, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mike Gurganus officiating.
