Kim was born on October 5, 1956 in Chattanooga, Tn., where she was a lifelong resident, to Stanley and Bettye Norman Combs.
As a child Kim attended Siskin School where she developed independence skills and was involved in fundraising and program efforts for the 365 Club and the March of Dimes. Growing up she loved spending time with her many friends, attending summer camp and going to concerts. She was a cheerleader for the newly-formed Chattanooga Big Wheels. She was a charter member of Silvercrest Baptist Church and a 1974 graduate of Brainerd High School.
Kim enjoyed reading, word puzzles, classic rock’n’roll music, her many beloved pets, and was always up for a road trip. She was creative and liked to paint and do needlework.
Her faith, determination and perseverance were her hallmarks, making her an inspiration to many.
Kim will be lovingly remembered by her sister Amy Combs Byrd and brother Craig Combs, brothers-in-law Ken Byrd and Dr. Joseph Trasmonte, dear friend Becky Hall, and companion and former spouse Terry McRoy.
