Kathryne Clark Casteel

Kathryne was born in Flat Rock, Alabama to the late Jess and Tempie Clark. She was a longtime resident of East Ridge. Kathryne worked with Valley Optical for several years and operated her own beauty shop for 30 years. She was a member of East Ridge Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R. L. Casteel; daughter, Lisa Sullivan, grandson Clay Surber, and nine brothers and sisters.

Kathryne is survived by her children; son Jackie (Debbie) Miller of Cumming, Georgia, daughter Joyce Surber of Chattanooga, and five grandchildren; Bart Jordan, Jonathan Sullivan of Chattanooga and Mary-Kathryne Schlitzkus of Cumming, Georgia, Jessica Miller and Jennifer Miller of Atlanta, Georgia and four great-grandchildren and a fifth on the way.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019, at the East Chapel of the Chattanooga Funeral Home with Minister Robert Oliver officiating. Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, June 2, 2019.
