Kate Luttrel Wood

She was the daughter of the late W. L. and Alta Luttrell, and was preceded in death by her husband, Kendall Wood. She was born in Knoxville, TN, but has been a long time resident of Chattanooga. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She belonged to the Grace Class Sunday School, and was an active member of it’s visitation program. She was a member and officer of the Opti-Mrs club. Through the club she was a sponsor of Bonnie Oaks Orphanage, and loved working with many of the girls. She was employed by the American National Insurance Co. She and her husband, Kendell, spent many happy retirement years in Clearwater, FL. They attended Calvary Baptist Church while there. She enjoyed God’s creation of the ocean and the mountains, and spent happy times in her vacation homes in Clearwater, and in Townsend, TN. She had a special loving spirit about her, and reflected her love of Christ Jesus.

Surviving are her daughter, Willene Price; grandsons, Mark (Jill) Price and Gregg (Lori) Price; great-grandchildren, Carolina Price and Christian Price; nieces, Charlynne (Vance) Fry, RoseMarie (A.B.) Coleman, and Phyllis Huskey; and several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12 to 2 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Howland and Rev. Robert Patty officiating. Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
