Judy M. Tate, age 72 , died Sunday, January 17, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Judy was born in Atlanta, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Louis Camp and Daisy Page. She was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Clarence Lee Tate.She is survived by her three children: Steve Tate, Greg Tate (Jimmy Peters) and Kim Tate (Bill) Reason; four grandchildren: Kathryn, Olivia, Madeleine and William, all of Chattanooga; one sister, Phoebe (Guy) Tillman and one brother, Stan (Bonnie) Camp, both of Atlanta; she also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.Judy was a devoted mother and grandmother and she loved her grandchildren more than life itself. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Chattanooga. Judy retired from SunTrust Bank (formerly American National Bank) after over 20 years of service as executive secretary to the president, chairman and to the board of directors.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 21st , at 10 AM at Chattanooga Funeral Home-East Chapel, 404 S. Moore Road and graveside services will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery 1200 Bailey Avenue immediately following the memorial service. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday, January 20th, 2010 at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or to the charity of your choice.
