Judith Pfitzer Wurm, 78, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away on Christmas morning. Judy had attended Valparaiso University and worked for the United States Bankruptcy Court as a financial administrator. Some of her many passions included quilting, gardening, and ministry and mentoring to women in recovery and abusive situations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Pfitzer and Dorothea Pfitzer Spence, brother, William Pfitzer, and a son-in-law, Gary Shealy.
Left behind to cherish Judy’s memory are her husband of 57 years, David Wurm, children, Faith Akin Shealy, Sheryl (Christoph) Schulze, and Paul (Mary) Wurm, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister, Barbara Stutz, brother, Thomas Pfitzer, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held in the First Lutheran Church on Friday December 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Christoph Schulze and Pastor Clifford Herd officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until noon at the church prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions can be made in Judy’s memory to the Transformation Project, P.O. Box 22908, Chattanooga, TN 37422.
