Joyce Meredith Toomey

Joyce Meredith Toomey, age 80, passed away on August 22, 2010 in McKinney, TX. She was born on April 24, 1930 in Edwardsville, KS to Harry and Clara Fleming. She is survived by her sons, Ron Yantzi and wife, Toni, Rick Yantzi and wife Nancy; step-son, Greg Toomey and wife Lisa; sisters, Lois Chick and Verl Bishop; sister-in-law, Neleda Lawrence; grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Yantzi, step-grandchildren, Charles Akers, Stephen and Jason Carpenter; Landon, Rachel and Parker Toomey, Daniel and Sarah Fischer; and loving nieces and nephews. Joyce was an active member of Suncreek United Methodist Church in Allen, TX. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, playing cards and cross-stitching. Also, she enjoyed outdoor activities like camping, water skiing and gardening. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family. Funeral services will be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home – East Chapel, 404 S. Moore Road, East Ridge, TN 37412 on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 2:00pm with the burial to follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held the morning before the service from 11:00am till 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
