John Joseph "Jack" Baker III

Jack was born on October 14, 1949 to John Joseph (Joe) Baker Jr. and Eloise Campbell Baker in Chattanooga TN. After graduating from Brainerd High in 1966, Jack joined the Air National Guard. He went on to become a boilermaker at Eclipse Boiler and later continued his career at Industrial Boiler and Mechanical.

When Jack was sixteen, he met and fell in love with Ramona (Marty) Marceil Hale. They were married in 1967 and were together for 56 wonderful years of marriage. The pair leaned on each other through all of life's ups and downs. Jack and Marty were a perfect example of true soulmates which shined through for everyone to see. Their bond will remain unbreakable forever.

Jack and Marty would go on to have 2 children, Christy Elouise Baker and John Joseph (Jay) Baker IV. Jack was a great father and Christian leader. He always taught us to stand tall, be proud, and know ourselves in all situations and supported us all throughout the many accomplishments and difficulties of our lives. Jack was the Chairman of the Deacons at Ridgeview Baptist Church and the very definition of a servant of God.

Jack was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Eloise Baker.

He is survived by his wife, Marty Baker and his children and their spouses, Christy and Michael Kernea, Amber and Jay Baker and grandchild John Joseph (Jaxson) Baker V.

A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday February 17, 2024 at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN 37412, with visitation from 4-6pm followed by the memorial service starting at 6pm.
