James Bradley “Brad” Stevens, of East Ridge, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at his home. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Brad was a 1984 graduate of East Ridge High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society and band.
He obtained an A.S. Degree in Communications and Filmography from Chattanooga State Community College, and a Horticulture Certificate from Chattanooga State Community College. He was an avid landscaper, photographer, and poet. He loved the outdoors, planting flowers, raising birds, and had a compassion for dogs.
Brad was preceded in death by his father James Donald Stevens, grandparents Louis and Elizabeth Smartt, Maynard and Thelma Stevens, and nephew Travis Alan Neal.
He is survived by his mother, Joanne Smartt Stevens, long-time companion Donnie L. Cheatham, sisters, Terry Stevens and Jeff Edwards (spouse), Donna Jo Stevens and Jennifer Collins, and nephew Matthew Kyle Neal.
A Celebration of Brad’s Life will be held on Saturday March 16, 2024 at 1:30 pm graveside in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens with a visitation prior at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the McKamey Animal shelter in memory of Brad, or to your favorite charity.
