James M. Parker, 91, of Chattanooga passed away on Tuesday December 28, 2021. James was born in Lafayette, Georgia to the late John William and Mettie Lou Parker on January 11, 1930. He was a truck driver and retired from Smith Transport.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Parker, and his aforementioned parents.
He is survived by a sister, Nell Rogers, sister-in-law, Wilma Winkles, nephew, Stephen King, several other nieces and nephews, and his special caregiver, Jeanette McClendon.
A Celebration of James’ Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Friday January 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bruce Sloan officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm until service time.
As an expression of sympathy or in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in James’ memory can be made to Kindred Hospice and/or Preferred Care.
