A veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marines, Gordon had worked for Lodge Cast Iron, Chris-Craft Boats and had been a machinist for various companies in the Chattanooga Area. He loved the outdoors and animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Dora Mae Troutman; sister, Mary Payne; brother, James D. “Popeye” Troutman; an infant son, Kevin Conley Troutman; one nephew, Alan Romine.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Nancy O’Neal Troutman; daughter, Melissa (Brad) Buek; son Brian Troutman; two grandchildren, Grace and Emma; sister, Shirlie Taylor; four nieces and three nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with the Rev. Tommy Messer officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, West. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
