Giselle Sirhan Ankar, age 55, passed away Friday July 11th, 2014 in Chattanooga, TN. She was born in Taybeh, Palestine and was raised in Dearborn, Michigan until the age of 18. At that time, she met and married the love of her life and moved to Chattanooga, TN. She was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Ghalib and Georgette Sirhan. She devoted her life to God, her husband, and her four daughters Christine, Jennifer, Nicole, and Gina. She was a courageous woman who sought God’s will in her life.
Giselle is survived by her husband of 38 years, Fuad “Eddie” Ankar; her four daughters, Christy, Jennifer, Nickey, and Gina of Chattanooga, TN her son-in-law and Christy’s husband Daniel Parker and two grandchildren Ava and Jonah Parker. Her two sisters, JoAnn and Jane, and brother Joshua and many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 5-8 PM Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7 PM.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Basilica 214 East 8th Street. The body will lie in state from 10-10:30AM in the church vestibule.
Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Giselle’s memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Basilica, 214 East 8th Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402.
