Gertrude "Trudy" Papa

Mrs. Papa was born November 30, 1919 in Georgetown, TN., the daughter of the late Sim and Avi Cartwright Cofer. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Fred J. Cofer and Ned A. Cofer.

Mrs. Papa was owner of Papa Realty Company in the Chattanooga area for 35 years. She also operated Trudy’s Beauty Shop on Market Street for many years. She was a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Chattanooga Board of Realtors and the Chattanooga Orchid Society.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Tony Papa, sons, Tony Alan Papa of Tellico Plains, TN, Jerry Andre Papa and his wife Dawn of Seminole, FL., daughters in law Millie Papa of Chattanooga and Elizabeth Adams of Maryville, TN. She is also survived by her brother Martin H. Cofer of Chickamauga, GA. and sister, Erma Lea Caldwell of Georgetown, TN., five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. David Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2- 4 and 6 – 8 at the funeral home.
