I loved taking care of Gerry at Morningpointe of Chatt. She was a very precious resident who became close and dear to our Hearts. We had many  good laughs while we sat together talking while waiting for her turn to go to bed. I was sad she moved out of our facility and so sad when I recently found out she passed away, but I know she is with Jesus amd her family whom she loved dearly.  Well I thnk the Smith Family for giving me the opportunity not only to care for for their Mother but Also the opportunity to Love her. She will surely be Missed ,but I know she is in the best place of all in Glorious Heaven with my Lord and Savior...Thnkyou Lord for this Precious Family bring them peace and joy and happiness in this difficult time....See you oneday Ms Gerry in Glory land. I remember you sitting on the front porch and your water breaking.# 6 was on the way to our house.{I thought you peed your pants}.I love you Momma and Thank  you so much for being our Mom of 6 loving children!!!! I love you #2




Our family lived 3 doors the street from the Smith family. The two older boys were the same age as me and Madeline, and Brian was a year older than my little sister, Amanda. Susie, Patty and Kathy  were all 1,2 &3 years older than me. We played games in each other’s houses and ate snacks till one of our moms said ,”Go outside and play”. We swam in their above ground pool and watched their home movies on a sheet in their backyard in the summers. We played in the snow and went sledding down the hill in front of the Payne’s or the other big hill on Sunbury dubbed “Deadman’s Hill” in the winters. In the summer, our moms, Susanne and Geri, would sit on their front porch after dinner and watched all of us play kickball or ride our bikes til it was dark most every night. We might eat popsicles or drink Kool-Aid. Those were the “Wonder Years” of the late 60’s and 70’s. We watched cartoons after school and played plenty of board games. You name it Monopoly, Clue, Sorry and of course, card games like War and Hearts. Some summers, my dad did 4th of July fireworks and Mr. Smith sometimes piled us on all in the back of his truck or their VW van,(they had the original first mini-van) to go get Icees. Fond memories of growing up with their families and other families like the Payne’s and Coleman’s on Sweetbriar Avenue. Not to leave out the Cornwall’s and Ware’s lived behind our street on Sunbury. Mrs. Smith was just another mom to me and my sisters since our families spent so much time at each other’s houses. No cell phones then to call us home. They called each other on our house phones and sent each child home to the right house at dinner time. And occasionally you could hear a mom calling a wayward one to come home. I.E., my mom yelling for Amanda to get on home. Mrs. Smith,  I know your family will miss you, and I know you are at peace in jesus’ arms and Mr. Smith is by your side.

Mom, I cannot express how much I am going to miss you. You brought so much joy and love to our family. I am comforted to know you are whole again and with Jesus in heaven. I am sure dad welcomed you with open arms. I will never stop thinking of you and know that I love you.

mom,you will be so missed.i remember how subtle she was growing up.There was a time when i was around 15 or so yrs old and i had just gotten a job and the old red food store.i would come home from work on Sunday morning after working Saturday night 3rd shift and she would always tell me not to forget to go to mass.At first i did want to go because i was "tired".But she would always remind me how important that it was to go,tired or not.Thank you mom for reminding each time just how important it is.Through the good times and hard times i have never forgotten.i love you and will miss you till we meet again....Brian #6

I was so blessed to have a kind, and loving Mother in law . My kids loved going to grandma's after Sunday Mass. If she didnt have any paper for them to write on she would let them write on her arm with a pen. I'm sure the ink was hard to get off but she didnt care. She cared deeply for her family. Grandma you will be missed.

One of the earliest memories I have of my grandmother was her keeping 8 or 10 boxes of cereal in her cupboard and her making a cake that had colored sprinkles in it. She kept so much cereal. Haha 

I spent A LOT of time with her in the late 80's and throughout the '90s as she would babysit me while my parents were at work. My father would get off at 2:00 p.m. and when he would pick me up, we would go to Holiday Bowl in Brainerd and play arcade games....but EVERY time at about 2:00 p.m., she would tell me to go in her change purse and get a couple of dollars worth of quarters. She ALWAYS had a lot of quarters.

She was ALWAYS so kind, loving, giving. In the years I had with her, I don't remember her EVER even raising her voice to me about anything. I am so proud to have had her as my grandma. I love you and will miss you.

My children were blessed to have had her as their Grandmother.  She always shared her chewing gum with them and that was a lot of sticks of gum.  Christmas Eve was spent at Grandpa's and Grandma's house with the stockings displayed in the living room.  Easter morning was Krispy Kreme doughnuts after morning mass and Reese's peanut butter eggs.  Halloween was Grandpa's chili and trick or treating in their neighborhood.   She was proud of their accomplishments and had her table of photos that held framed pictures of all her grandchildren.  Rarely did you see her without her lipstick, bracelets and earrings.   My children will always have those special childhood memories of their Grandma.
