Gayle Mears

Gayle was born and raised in Chattanooga, was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and retired as an administrator from a local transportation company.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Robbye Mears; and brother, Gary Mears.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Janie Mears Robinson and her husband Danny; nephew, Zachary (Sarah) Mears and their son, Brady; nephew, Joshua Mears and his fiancée, Megan Garrity; cousins, John (Sandra) Finney, Diane (Kelso) Marrs and Jo Carol Finney.

Gayle was cared for by her dear friends Sue and Raymond Beebe, Wanda Collins, Dee Chilton and Brenda Love. Gayle was a member of the Alpha Beta Chapter of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha and was lovingly supported by her sorority sisters.

Visitation will be from 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be at 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home with Dr. Gary Carver officiating.

Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.

Pallbearers will be Zach and Josh Mears, Danny Robinson, Mike Frazier, Mike Williams and Heath Nance.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.

Memorial donations may be made to Orange Grove Center (615 Derby Street, Chattanooga, TN 37404-1678), Walter E. Boehm Birth Defects Center (975 E. Third Street, Chattanooga, TN 37403) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
