Gary was born on June 5, 1945 in Chattanooga, TN. He worked for CSX railroad for 30 years in various locations as an engineer. He was a member of Tiftonia Baptist Church.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Gussie and O. J. Vinson; infant son “Little Gary”; and nephew, Eddie Vinson.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kim Hartley (Mike) of Rossville, GA and Nicole Vinson of Daytona Beach, FL; stepson, Robert Babb (Tammy) of Murfreesboro, TN; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother, Cecil Wayne Vinson (Betty) of Chattanooga, TN; sister, Velma Shinn (Ted) of Ringgold, GA; and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3:30 PM on Sunday, November 20, 2016 followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:30 PM at the funeral home with Ted Shinn officiating.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist. 404 South Moore Road.
