Fred William May Jr.

Fred William May, Jr., 64, of Ringgold, GA passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at his home. A member of Sts. Peter and Paul Basilica, he was a 1968 graduate of Brainerd High School and attended the University of Virginia. Fred was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was employed with Northgate RV as a salesman had worked at Mountain View Ford and enjoyed motorcycles and muscle cars. He was an avid boater and member of F Troup at Pine Harbor Marina. Fred signed with the Philadelphia Phillies after high school and played short stop for the US Air Force All Stars.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred William May, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Houts May; two sons, Garry (Laura) May and Dillon (Fiancé Jordan) May; one grandson, Sawyer May; mother, Shirley Guinn May; two brothers, Bobby May and David May; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be held at 4 PM Wednesday at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul with Father David Carter officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Wednesday at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Outreach Program for the Needy, directed by Ann May, at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul, 214 8th Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402.
