Frances was born on February 18, 1920 in Grundy County, Tennessee. Affectionately, known by all as “Granny” she was a warm and loving person whom many described as possessing “a heart of gold.” She was much loved by family and by many friends and will be dearly missed.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Carlos W. Brown, Sr.
She is survived by her children, Sylvia (Jerry) Flowers, Macon, GA., Norma Sparks, Beersheba Springs, Carlene (David) Gilstrap, Cleveland, TN., Carlos (Susan) Brown, Jr., Noble, GA., James F. “Jim” (Donna) Brown, Altamont, TN., Cynthia Brown Cagle, Cleveland, TN and William “Hank”(Kimberly Sisk) Brown, South Pittsburg, TN.; grandchildren, Christopher Flowers, Greg Flowers, Martina Brown, Anna Gilstrap, Jason Gilstrap, Johnny Brown, Angie Brown Haston, Gary Brown, Tabitha Ellis, Ashleigh Cagle and Nathan Cagle; 10 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. EDT on Saturday at the East Chapel and again on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. CDT at Grace Chapel Methodist Church.
Services for Frances will follow on Sunday at 2 p.m. CDT at Grace Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Clayton Jones officiating. Burial will be in Grace Chapel Cemetery.
