Edna E. Nuckolls

Edna Nuckolls passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. As a lifelong caregiver, all those who came in contact with her loved her. As the matriarch of her family, she was always available to offer a hand, an ear, a word of advice, or offer up a prayer. Her daughter claims she had a pipeline to Jesus. She will be missed. She had been a member of East Ridge Baptist Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.W. (Bill) Nuckolls; parents, Lee and Jessie Springer Eaker; siblings, Velma Leonard, Cecile Edgemon, Bertha Eaker, Geneva Price, Raymond Eaker and Charles Eaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Denise (Andy) Park, Racine, WI; two grandsons, Lance (Chelsea) Baker, Huxley, IA and Eric (Danica) Park, Indianapolis, IN; three great-granddaughters, Kesney and Ruby Baker and Penelope Park.

The family expresses their gratitude to Dr. Wendt and the CCU staff at Memorial Hospital for the care she was given during her stay. Also, a special thank you to Hospice of Chattanooga and her nurse Sarah and CNA Crystal for the loving way they made the end of her journey comfortable and peaceful.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road. The family will receive friends from 2-6 PM Sunday and from 10:30 – 11:30 AM Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be private at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
