Dorothy "Dottie" Louise Womack

She was born to Paul and Grace Workman on July 21, 1931 in Chattanooga, TN. After marrying her sweetheart, Sam Womack in 1955, they had two children, S.T. Jr. and Dale Womack. Dottie spent her life dedicated to her family and church. She had a fulfilling career with AT&T as a Group Chief Operator. She enjoyed her retirement, gardening and volunteering at the hospital with Red Cross. Dottie had a strong work ethic, and if there was a task to be done you could count on Dottie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Womack; her son, Dale Womack; grandson, Grant Womack; and her sisters, Sarah, Virginia, Grace and Betty.

Dottie is survived by her son, S.T. Jr. (Lynn) Womack; daughter-in-law, Carol Womack; three grandchildren, Katherine (Jake) Scholl, Laura and Claire Womack. Dottie will be remembered for her love of family and service to others.

A Celebration of Dottie’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Saturday November 13, 2021 at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Sam in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
