Doris Irene Ledbetter, 90 of Chattanooga passed away on July 29, 2018. She loved to stitch, quilt, and sew. Doris was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church. She was also a member of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd S. Ledbetter, parents, Will and Martha Anderson, siblings, Willie Mae Conry, Claude Anderson, Madge Baggerstoss, June McCullough, and Alvin Anderson.
Left behind to cherish Doris’ memory are her children, Marcia Jaynes, Dallas, GA., Phil (Shelia) Ledbetter, Chattanooga, and Laura (Tony) Burgess, Red Bank, TN., grandchildren, Joseph (Hannah) Ledbetter, Sacramento, CA., Rachel (Warren) McCrickard, Hixson, TN., Rebecca (Kendal) Shipley, Ringgold, GA., Samantha (Ben) Harris, Atlanta, GA., Angel (Tabitha) Serrano, Jacksonville, FL., Bryan (Krisia) Jaynes, Bedford, NH., Andi and Adrienne Jaynes, both of Atlanta, GA., 9 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Mary Nell Sullivan, Chattanooga, TN., several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Doris’ Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Wednesday August 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mike Lofton officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 8pm on Tuesday. Doris will be laid to rest with her husband in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flower the family would like memorial contributions to be made to Hearth Hospice in Doris’ memory for the excellent care they afforded her. Also the family wishes to give thanks to the Lantern at Shallowford for the excellent care they gave Doris.
