Diana Lynn (Picklesimer) Phillips of East Ridge, TN passed away suddenly in the company of her family on June 28, 2018. Diana was born on October 26, 1950 in Copperhill, TN and graduated from West Fannin High School in 1968. She married Richard Phillips on a cake-melting day in June 1995, and enjoyed sharing her life and travelling with him during the past 23 years. She worked as a respiratory therapist for over 30 years at Memorial Hospital and other Chattanooga area hospitals.
Diana cherished the friendships she made through working in hospitals, but we all suspect she didn’t really enjoy working very much. She loved spending time at Blue Ridge Lake and the beach, going to see live music, shopping, and visiting and talking to friends and family. She was a film buff and one of the only people on the planet who truly relished going to the movies alone. Most of all, Diana enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a devoted Memaw and spent much of the past 10 years travelling to New York to visit her two grandchildren.
Diana is survived by her loving husband Richard; her son Robby Nichols (Kathy) of Delmar, NY; grandchildren Henry and Stella; sister Sherry Roof (Jack) and nephew Lucas Roof (Miranda) of Mineral Bluff, GA. Undoubtedly she is reunited with her mother and best friend, Mary Ellen Harper Baker, and if there’s shopping in heaven, surely she and Nan are making plans. The family will greet friends at Chattanooga Funeral Home - East Chapel on Sunday, July 8, 2018, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service celebrating her life. Please be prepared to share a poem, a favorite Bible verse, or your best Diana story. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to the American Lung Association or your favorite children’s charity in her name.
Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd. East Ridge, TN 37412. Please share your thoughts and memories at www.ChattanoogaEastChapel.com
